Water Blasting

Ausblast utilises only high quality equipment so that water jetting and industrial cleaning combinations can be obtained and controlled by our experienced operators to ensure the most efficient cleaning speed is delivered SAFELY.

Applications for Waterblasting

Ausblast is wholly WA owned and operated. We are able to tailor our operations to suit your needs, providing a flexible and personalised service.

High and ultra high pressure water jetting applications can be utilised for many uses - it is a diverse and eco friendly way to clean and prep.

Demonstrated uses include:

  • surface preparation for structural integrity testing
  • pre shut cleaning of structure and equipment (e.g. shovel shuts)
  • surface preparation of floors
  • to partially remove deteriorated concrete and expose corroded reinforcement bars,
  • roughen concrete surfaces,
  • rake out joints,
  • widen cracks for refilling,
  • unblock crushers,
  • clean bins and chutes,
  • remove coatings and residues (includes rubber liners)

High pressure water jetting
High pressure water jetting (greater than 20 500 kPa but less than 172 500 kPa, 3,000 to 25,000 psi) utilises a pressure pump, a large volume of water, a specialised lance and nozzle assembly, and in some cases, inhibitor to prevent flash rusting. High pressure water can remove loose paint and rust.

Ultra high pressure water jetting
This utilises pressurised water from 172 500 kPa to 257 800 kPa, 25,000 to 40,000 psi (or higher). Ultra high pressure water jetting is similar to high pressure water jetting (see above) except that higher pressures clean much more efficiently and are better able to remove tight rust and paint. Mill scale is not removed.

Water jetting (high and ultra high pressure) with abrasive injection
The ability of water jetting to remove tight paint, rust and mill scale can be much improved if an abrasive is injected into the water stream at the nozzle. The quality of preparation can be improved and profile is imparted to the surface.
